Motorola Launches Droid Pro To Kill BlackBerry

Motorola, which competes with Research in Motion, Apple and Nokia in the smartphone market, recently introduced seven new Android-based smartphones named Droid Pro, Bravo, Citrus, Defy, Flipout, Flipside and Spice.

Out of these smartphones, only the Droid Pro is based on the Android 2.2 version, while the rest are based on the 2.1 version. The Android 2.2 has some new features related to enterprise security and hence we believe the Droid Pro could snatch some market share from RIM’s BlackBerry in the enterprise market.
Compatible WiFi (with DLNA support) and Bluetooth, it can act as a mobile hotspot (replay cellular signal via WiFi) and it features a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording capability 720p. It is a 3G smartphone / 3G + but in CDMA version (not compatible with European networks, it will take any version of GSM / WCDMA) for which Motorola is careful to indicate that embeds 3G antennas in diversity (multi -antenna which combines the received signals) to provide the user with greater throughput and greater sensitivity. Finally, the Motorola Pro Droid will benefit both of widgets displaying emails home page, with ability to filter mail in personal and professional, and may be customized by the applications downloaded from the Android Market.
