Here’s an interesting news for photography lovers from Microsoft. Microsoft released Camera Codec pack, after installing it enables native support for camera RAW formats. Users can now view RAW format pictures in Windows explorer, Windows Live Photo Gallery and other softwares based on Windows Imaging Codecs(WIC).
Before the release of Camera Codec Pack Windows displays ‘unknown file’ icon on RAW format files. But now you can also see a thumbnail preview of your camera files. Package support for many popular models of camera manufacturing companies like Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Panasonic, Epson, Pentex, Leica and Minolta. This package is available in both the x86 and x64 windows versions.
Codec runs on Windows Vista SP2 and Windows 7 operating system. 1.6 GHz or higher processor with minimum of 1 GB RAM and least of 1024×576 resolution is the required system configuration. Download and install this codec to test on your system.
